Mini and Junior Festival Loss at Luctonians Colts into the semis Super Saturday and live games too

On Sunday we have the Mini and Junior festival. Everyone is welcome to come and support the event which is one of the biggest events in our calender and a big money earner. We are looking for Volunteers to help with car parking. Due to the number of teams coming, car parking will be tight, so if you are attending the club on Saturday 15th March for a game ,or to watch the finale of the 6 Nations please ensure that you do not leave your car overnight as the gates for the festival will open at 9.00 and we need a clear space to organise the parking. Everyone was very good about this last year and we look forward to your help again this time

The 1st team travelled to Luctonians on Saturday to play the champions-elect. Tries by Conor Chamberlain and Rich Mullis kept us in the game at half-time, but Luctonians pulled away in the second period, to win by 32-12. Read John Warner’s report on the website.

The Colts played Barkers Butts on Friday night in the quarter finals of the Warwickshire Colts Cup and in a see-sawing game finished 36-32 ahead. Tom Vand er Hoven scored 2 tries and 3 conversions and other tries came from Connor McCarthy, Jamie Loffman, Owen Treanor and Alex Burbidge. We have drawn Old Leamingtonians in the semi-finals on the weekend of 29 March. Dtails not yet available but we a e looking for a big crowd!

This week is Super Saturday for the Six Nations and the final games (which will be on the big screens at the club) are

Italy v Ireland at 2.15
Wales v England at 4.45
France v Scotland at 8.00

There are no league fixtures this week, but the Veterans are playing away at Stratford, kicking off at 12.00 and the Colts are away to Broadstreet at 2.25

Reminder – Ray Ward’s funeral is on Monday 31 March, at St Mary Magdalen Church, Lillington, at 1.30. The burial (to be attended by family only) will be at 2.30 and everyone is invited to the Rugby Club
