This season marked the start of the club's second decade and building on the success of the previous season we had another good year with 18 wins and 3 draws from 26 games. The second XV broke even for a second season. The long serving, but still young, Tom Commander (right) was elected captain and he was to continue in the job until after the War. Reg Smith was his vice-captain. Tom had joined us whilst still at Leamington College, playing in the school holidays. As a youngster, he was tall and lanky but not very heavy and was tried out in the backs for a while, but once he started to fill out he proved himself to be a natural forward, skilful and strong and able to rough it with the best. He could easily have gone to a first class club but he was a loyal clubman and stayed with us throughout his career and played a record unbroken 134 games in a row before the war. The most notable recruit was T.L. Wilson-Jerrim, an excellent forward who defected from Old Warwickians. Pip Moore (left) returned from Old Leamingtonians and showed his paces on the wing scoring 22 tries. Two other good backs were the Bell brothers - F.R. Bell who played in the centre and W.H.B. Bell who was a scrum half. After winning the opening three games we hit a sticky patch in the Autumn, but against strong opposition, going down to twice to Northampton "A" and South Leicester and also to Old Wheatleyans and Kenilworth, in a rare encounter with our neighbours. From mid-December we hit top form and lost only one more game all season - our first fixture against Coventry Extras. On the representative front, Pip Moore and P.D. Strong played for Warwickshire Colts.
