There was a rugby club in Leamington Spa as early as 1875, but by the end of the nineteenth century it had gone out of existence. The current Leamington Rugby Club was formed in 1926. One of our founder members, the late Cliff Harrison CBE, produced a history of the club from 1926-1976 as part of our Golden Jubilee celebrations. This has now been reformatted and updated to 2010.

The history has been researched by trawling through back-copies of the Leamington Courier, fixture cards, match programmes, committee minutes, AGM reports, club magazines and team photographs, etc. I am grateful to those who have helped me with this by searching through their attics for old records. There are still many gaps and if anyone has any photographs or documents showing results, team line-ups etc or wants to make any corrections, embellish any events, or share any anecdotes, please get in touch as we can update and expand the history as additional information becomes available.
